| Growing a business when ALL your customers are SICK, maybe even dieing |
|
Insights into an affliction that is making sales and marketing jobs even harder!
Getting worse with each day, people are finding distraction to the point that they are unable to focus on any one thing long enough for them to make an intelligent and informed decision.
Driven by the communication gadgets and gizmos we are all transport around with us each day. Things like mobile phones and laptops where people have a permanently on connection status to receive and broadcast information and messages at a whim.
This sickness has no rest bite and its consuming all in its path to the point that peoples attention; in fact your very own customers are being killed off. ADD or Attention Deficit Disorder a once unheard of affliction is now casting down the human race making growing your business even tougher.
In fact it’s got so bad that it’s even interfering with one of the most important acts for the continued existence of the human race and that’s sex.
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is literally driving people to distraction.
Esquire and Marie Claire in recent surveys found that 12% of men and 7% of women had answered their phone or sent an email during sex. Can you believe it!?
How do you grab and keep the attention of people like that? Even worse, how do you motivate them to buy? These people are willing to stop having sex just so they can go answer their phone or send an email.
Just think what happens when they receive that piece of boring institutional marketing or a call from a dull uninvolved sales person. ADD kicks in and kicks them out pretty damn quick.
People are making impulsive, irrational decisions without any conscious thought or logic because for those who take part, the world is slowly programming people to function like this. Will we have no minds of our own in 50 years from now?
I think that’s a debate for another blog.
Cut through the interference with surgical precision.
If you are the one who receives or sorts the mail at home or in your office, you’re probably going through a BIG pile. Like most people you probably sort it into some kind of priority high, medium and low,
The pile you open immediately, the high priority is the one that grabs your attention because it look important.
And it’s the same with phone calls, emails, text messages, TV and radio. Automatically tuning our human communication media devices, eyes and ears, into what turns us on.
We stop turning the dial when we get a clear signal that interests us and if your in business and marketing that’s an attention grabbing reason or headline, the next my friend is what keeps them tuned in and why copy and content are still king.
